This 75g Gunpowder loose leaf green tea is an original composition made with the youngest green tea leaves of the Gunpowder species, enriched with the energising additives: aromatic verbena, lemon grass, lemon zest and sunflower petals. The tea infusion has a slightly sweet flavour and rich aroma with gentle hints of smoke.
Our green Gunpowder tea comes from the Chinese Zhejiang Province. The name of the species refers to the appearance of this tea, whose leaves, rolled tightly into small round pellets, resemble grains of black powder. In hot water the rolled leaves straighten and increase its volume several times. In the case of green tea it is very important to process it very carefully. The freshly picked leaves are not fermented but dried quickly. This allows the tea infusion to retain its natural, green-straw colour, slightly sweet flavour and a rich aroma with hints of gentle smoke.

Preparation tips: To retain the natural aroma of tea leaves steep this tea with water at the temperature of 75-85 °C. It is best to use tea pots or infusers which let the leaves expand fully. Brew one teaspoon of tea per cup with hot water (ca. 150 ml per cup) for 1 to 3 minutes. It is recommended to separate the leaves from the brew before serving. Steeping green tea for up to 3 minutes gives it stimulant properties, whereas steeping for over 3 minutes – makes it relaxing.
